WHEN LOVE SPEAKS

Though we be apart,
we are but a heartbeat away.
I have come to share a Truth
upon this blessed day.
Upon a bench in the Garden of Life
did they sit...
...each lost unto their own private world of woe.
Unhappy with the thought of Today,
she sought comfort within the remembrance of Yesterday.
Unsatisfied with the Now,
he found solace in the planning of Tomorrow's Path.
Love had passed her by,
Love had yet to come his way...
...She clung to the memory of a love that once was,
while he dreamed of a love that was yet to be.
And as she glanced his way, she silently cried...
"Oh why did I not meet you Yesterday,
when my heart was young and filled with hope?"
And he gazed upon her and thought within himself...
"Oh why did we not meet Tomorrow,
when I could provide a life of comfort
that is worthy of your love?"
And in the silent spaces of their despair,
the Angel of Love came and sat between them.
Unto the ear of the woman's heart did the Angel whisper...
"Living within the illusion of Yesterday will rob you
of Tomorrow's cherished memories."
And unto the man's deepest desire did the Angel speak...
"Only a fool plans for the uncertainty of Tomorrow,
while sacrificing the reality of Today."
And the man and the woman turned to see who it was that
had just spoken,
but they only saw the reflection of Love in each other's eyes.
As the man tenderly reached out to hold her hand,
he said...
"My name is Adam."
And the woman shyly smiled,
answering...
"I am your Eve."
