THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Though we be apart,
we are but a heartbeat away.
I have come to share a Truth
upon this blessed day.

He dwelled in the land of shadows,
where the darkness of desire fettered the
lofty dreams of Love;
and all who lived there were slaves unto wantonness,
held prisoner by their own selfish thought.

Aye, he dwelled among the multitudes, as each peered
into the vast expanses of their own emptiness,
searching for their individual freedom, that they might
escape and leave behind the wretchedness endured by all.

And it was in the night of his deepest despair that
he poured forth his heart, crying out to his God...

"Oh Lord, my God, show me the way that I might leave
behind the pain of my suffering.
Let me find the Stairway to Heaven and be the first to
enter into the Kingdom of God."

And the sincerity of his plea was heard and the answer
drifted upon the whispering wind...

'If you would come unto your God, you must leave behind
the barren desert of carnal desire.
You must climb the mountain of spirit thought and
at the very summit of awareness shall you find
the Stairway to Heaven.
Only selflessness will allow you to ascend the seven
sacred steps;
only Love will allow you to pass the Holy One who guards
the gate unto the Kingdom of Heaven.'

And so he left the idleness of ignorance and the
intoxication of pleasure;
left the multitudes and the dark canyons of their desires
to begin anew, a journey that would trace the steps leading
to the summit of awareness and up the Stairway to Heaven.

The way was long and the path was lonely as he climbed
the mountain of spiritual wisdom and many a night did
he wrestle with the lower self's desire to return to the
ways of old and to the golden chains of ignorant bliss.

But every battle strengthened his resolve to press on
and with each step, wisdom unfolded within a deeper
understanding.
Countless lifetimes did he spend upon the narrow mountain pass;
many were the times that he stumbled and fell, wounded and
bruised along the way.
Many were the times that Truth's hidden mystery poured forth
to feed the hunger of his soul, that he might continue his
quest to find the Stairway to Heaven and to be the first
to enter into the Kingdom of God.

Although the path became harder to walk, the higher he ascended,
he would not forsake the heights to which he had gained,
for the crest of awareness was now at hand.
As he stood upon Wisdom's Summit, far above the desert of
the life he had once lived, his eyes beheld the holy
Stairway to Heaven...

...A column of pure white light with seven spiraling stairs.
Seven steps of seven colors, reflecting the seven levels
of selflessness.

Upon the lowest step, whose color was red,
did he kneel in silent prayer,
giving thanks to God for all the blessings
of his life and unto the heavens did he declare...

"Thy will, not mine, be done."

And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

SINCERITY
*******

He climbed to the second step, whose color was orange,
and he saw the scale that weighed man's worth,
that repaid right for wrong until all debts ceased to be.
And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

JUSTICE
*******

He climbed to the third step, whose color was yellow,
and the world from which he came was no more.
Only the black abyss of nothingness now lay beneath his feet
and engulfed in the darkness of foreboding did he speak...

"Wherever I am, God is and all is well."

And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

FAITH
*******

He climbed to the fourth step, whose color was green,
and the winds of hell began to howl.
Lightening and thunder tore to shreds the sky and hailstones
of fire rained down upon his faith,
but he spoke unto the elements of destruction...

"You who are subservient to the will of man be still,
for with Peace and Love shall you obey."

Thus the fury of the elements abated with his command
and he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

COURAGE
*******

He climbed to the fifth step, whose color was blue,
and he felt the pain and suffering of every soul and he
wept within the depths of his heart for each tear that
had ever been shed.
And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

COMPASSION
*******

He climbed to the sixth step, whose color was indigo,
where the Spirit of Hidden Mystery reigned supreme
and he saw that the Love-Light of each soul was connected
to the Love-Light of every other soul and within each,
the seed of perfection.
And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

DIVINE LOVE
*******

And then came the seventh and final step, whose color was violet,
where all aspects of his Being were brought into balance to
reflect the All-Wisdom, All-Love and All-Power of the Father.
And he saw that the name of the step upon which he stood was...

CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS
*******

Before the Guardian of the Gate he stood,
purified of all that had separated man from God,
and the Guardian spoke...

"All Peace and Love to you.
The Kingdom of Heaven is yours."

But he who had yearned to be the first to climb the Stairway
and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven had now yet a deeper
yearning to fulfill;
and he spoke unto the Guardian of the Gate...

"How can I embrace the Father in the pureness of Love
while forsaking those who seek that which I have found?
Send me back, that I might deliver all who would,
unto the Kingdom of Heaven."

Thus,
the one delivered seven
and each of the seven delivered seven
until the number of souls that had climbed
the Stairway to Heaven became
seven times the number of Eternity's stars.

And he who was the first to climb the Stairway,
let every other soul pass before him,
until he alone stood with the Guardian of the Gate.
And the Guardian embraced him and said...

"Well done my brother, well done."

And in that moment did he recognize the Holy One
that guarded the Gate as the Master Soul who had given
his life in willing sacrifice,
that all might know the Truth...

Before him stood the

CHRIST LOGOS

and the CHRIST spoke one final time...

"Together does the Family of Man come Home
and the first shall be last."
