THE MYSTERY OF THE MOUNTAIN

Though we be apart,
we are but a heartbeat away.
I have come to share a Truth
upon this blessed day.
The solitude of the mountains has kissed my heart
with the quiet whisperings of Wisdom's Song.
I walked alone upon a dew laden path through the dense forest,
no sound to disturb my thoughts other than the singing bird,
the chattering of the gray squirrel and the rush of the glacier fed
river flowing over the rocks and boulders.
The water found here is milky in color due to the 'glacier flour'
produced from the grinding of the granite rocks under the weight
of the mountain's fifteen thousand year old ice.
These glaciers are forever at work,
grinding smooth the roughness
of the rock.
As I walked along the river's murky bank,
I came upon a smaller stream which fed its crystal clear waters
into the vast murkiness.
I stood at the very spot where these waters met
and though the little stream poured freely into the main course,
the tiny current would not allow the impurity to mix with its
own blessed source;
yet on and on did this little stream pour forth its sacred
gift of purity.
Hidden within this mystery lies a lesson of Eternal Truth for any
traveler willing to walk this forest path in a sacred manner:
The riverbed is the River of Life,
the countless rocks found there are the multitude of souls
that incarnate in search of purification.
The ice found at the highest mountain peak
is the Eternal Law of the Great Spirit that grinds smooth
the roughness of the soul's present-personality.
The milky waters are the impurities of ignorance,
known to man as sin,
that are washed away by the constant flow of Forgiveness;
and the Little Stream of crystal clear waters
is the Wisdom and Unconditional Love of the Christ...
...forever pouring forth new waters that will eventually
cleanse the River of Life before it enters
the Great Sea...
which contains the Oneness of All Things...
...GOD.
May the blessings of the 'Little Stream'
flow into the heart of every Life.
