THE JUDGMENT DAY

Though we be apart,
we are but a heartbeat away.
I have come to share a Truth
upon this blessed day.

Alone he walked into the sunset of his life,
abandoned by all he had ever known.
And as another day and another night went by,
he was left all alone to sit and wonder why...

Why it was he had lost the world's respect?
Where did it go?
How could he get it back?

So across the span of time and throughout
the fabric of his life did he search,
ever pondering the ultimate sin committed
that had caused the world to turn its back upon him.

He remembered his youth and the ridicule endured
as he stood in defense of another too weak to stand alone;
and he remembered how the tormenters hated him
for not being one of them.

He remembered those with whom he had labored,
the ones who could not understand the ethics of his life;
and when he refused to bend, they hated him for the
stubbornness of his ways.

He remembered the unbelievers who belittled his enduring faith.
He remembered the true believers who damned him in the
name of their God.

He remembered the self-righteous as they snubbed him
for not buying the Truth they owned to sell,
and he remembered their silence as he gave forth the
humble Truth for all to own.

He remembered the friends who had come and gone,
taking from him that which they desired;
and when their needs had been fulfilled,
he remembered the bitterness of their parting words...

"You have become everything that we despise."

He wept upon his dying day,
for he knew not how to make amends to a world
that had so harshly judged his life.

And then the Master of All Things Good came
to comfort him in his hour of need,
shining a light upon him, that he might know
the truth of what he had done.

And he asked of the Master if what was said was true...

"Did I change into everything so despised by this world?"

And the Master answered, saying...

"The only constant in Life is change.
Be thou exceedingly glad that the world so
despises what you have become,
for in truth you are but a mirror held high
that all might come to see their own potential.
But man seeks not the Light and comes to hate
the ugly darkness of his own reflection,
as he is made to bear witness to his own ignorant ways.
Be thou not afraid,
for in judging you, the world is but judging itself...

Remember the truth hidden within your name and know
that God, alone, hath rendered judgment upon you."
