I AM

Though we be apart,
we are but a heartbeat away.
I have come to share a Truth
upon this blessed day.
"I am"...
He spoke unto the mocking multitude of
unbelievers as they spat upon and ridiculed
the magnitude of his claim.
"You are not"...
They cried, refusing to believe in a power
that they could not see and turned away
from a Light that they could not comprehend.
"I am"...
He spoke unto the righteous indignation of the
true believers as they marched him off to death
for the blasphemy of his claim.
"You are not"...
They sneered, proclaiming God to be great,
as they spilled his blood with fiendish delight.
"I am"...
He speaks unto the hopeful hearts of those
caught between the world of believers and
unbelievers;
and he whispers for all who would hear:
"I am as I was and
I shall be as I am.
I am the Alpha, the Omega...
...the first and the last.
I am the breath and the Life...
...the Way and the wayfarer.
I am the Truth of your Being...
...the Love of your kindest thought.
I am the answer to your every prayer...
...the reflection of your deepest desire.
I am your brother...
...I am the Son of God;
and all that I am, you shall
one day be...
I am."
