I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. My research is under the supversion of Professor Bernd Girod in the Image, Video and Multimedia Systems (IVMS) group. My general research interests are in the areas of computer vision, interactive multimedia applications and machine learning.
I completed my B.A.Sc. in Electronics Engineering with Honors at Simon Fraser University in 2009. Working with Prof. Jie Liang , my undergraudate thesis focused on a new view synthesis prediction technique for Multiview Video Coding.
In 2007, I interned at NTT Media Information Laboratory and worked with Dr. Akisato Kimura in creating an enhanced computational model of human visual attention.
Currently, I am taking a leave of absence from my PhD program and joined Parlay Labs as the Founding Scientist.
