Installing Fedora Core 2

Today I finally managed to install Fedora Core 2 Linux on my TravelMate 613 TXV. Make no mistake, the actual installation was extremely easy, and wonderful. After selecting a few options and choosing which packages I wanted to install, I had a running system. Even my Netgear PCMCIA wireless card worked out of the box, and Linux automatically connected to my home wireless base station. Fedora Core 2 (because of changes in the 2.6 kernel) does of course have problems...

Startling to Settle

I have been here for quite a while now, but have not been able to really settle yet, because I was busy leading Tristan around until a few days ago, and now Joanna is here for a few days. I started reading understanding the Virtual Memory Manager and Linux Kernel Development, and am liking both books very much. I have to hurry a bit with reading the former, because I was supposed to review it for OSNews a week ago,...

Almost Done

I had four finals already, with varying success. I hope things don't turn out as badly as I fear for some of them, because I had basically zero time to study. I have one more final on Tuesday, and will try to catch up on studying and packing before then. I am extremely looking forward to my research project, and this summer in general; it should be an amazing time....

A Busy Weekend

This has been an extremely busy weekend for me, that is fittingly ending in a work marathon to finish my Math marathon. The good thing about all of this is that I am now almost completely caught up on EE 108 B, Math 51 and CS 154. Tomorrow will be a day of studying for CS 240 and Math 51. Apart from that I also need to email Julie about my president's scholar project and finally turn in my monitor...
