Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
I had been thinking about adding a FOAF profile for a long time now. After Travis added a link to his (not yet uploaded) profile, I decided to create a preliminary FOAF profile too. Though I do not yet have many links to other people, everything else is complete. I will be adding more details in the future, when I see what FOAF can do past what is configurable using FOAF-a-matic. I also encourage all of you out there to also get a FOAF profile, so we can start linking to each other; its very simple with FOAF-a-matic.
For those who don't know what FOAF is, please visit this website. FOAF lets you give a computer readable description of yourself, together with a list of friends and their respective FOAF files. This allows it to be used as an open and distributed social networking scheme, with many other novel uses that are still in development. Finally, do not worry about entering your email addresses into FOAF-a-matic, as it currently encrypts your email address, so that spambots cannot harvest it.
