Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
I've been back from Madrid since Friday and currently cooking Paella (its on the stove right now).
I spent the last few days catching up on things and getting back to work. One big goal for next quarter is going to be the GRE, which I have started looking into more deeply today. While I am not worried about the math section, my vocabulary is definitely a bit rusty. The writing section has always my greatest obstacle, but two years at Stanford combined with keeping a blog have improved my skills. My need to practice might, however, lead to somewhat more formally written posts in the future.
The start of the Olympics has inspired me greatly, and reminded me of how important determination and focus are. This next week will hopefully be a shining example of productivity. My current mix of activities are reading (literature in order to prepare for the GRE, and CS to prepare for the next year), coding, and biking on a home trainer (while reading). More coherent thoughts will follow tomorrow, for now, I hope you are all happy that I am back.
I am happy that you are back! I am also happy to hear that you are inspired by the Olympics, since I am quite frankly obsessed with them. Finally, I am not happy to know that you support my mock-desire to get a cat--while it would no doubt be fun to play Mafia with the cat for seventy hours or so, it would probably end up hating at least half of our friends by the end of it. Nothing is worse than a moody, surly cat, and so I think I should pass.
Take care! I'll talk to you more when I get back from Iowa (and most definitely when the Olympics are over).
