Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
Yesterday I got confirmation that my grant request was approved, and that I can proceed with my project as planned and attend the VM'04 conference. Due to the amount of work, and other meetings I have today, I've decided that it is probably better not to go to today's welcome session, and finish everything and get up early tomorrow, in order to account for the fact that I will not have been to the San Jose Hyatt. Though I am not entirely sure what exactly the welcome session is about, it is only 2 hours long, and there is no specific information on it, so I think it is just a ceremony where somebody from USENIX greets all the people who have arrived by then.
The fact that the conference flyer says May 6-7 makes me think that this is not worth attending, and it will allow me to get enough sleep to be ready for everything tomorrow.
