The Legend of Loro

The Stanford Magazine's recent article on inscrutable Stanford traditions, featured the following excerpt on Loro's dorm theme:
[T]he theme has some relationship, however tenuous, to the name of the dorm. Not so for Loro House, which earned kudos last year for its out-of-nowhere theme, Sean Connery—yes, the actor. “What better rallying cry than screaming “Sean Connery” or “Free Scotland” [one of his tattoos]?” says senior Felicia Estrada. Indeed. We’ve come a long way since “Branner sucks.”
Nothing can sum up Loro's greatness like our extraordinarily random dorm theme. Sean Connery for ever. Though I do not really agree with the politics behind the Free Scotland movement, Loro probably contributed quite a bit of knowledge about this issue to the Stanford community. hahahahahaha. Yes, the whole point of the Sean Connery theme was to contribute to Stanford's awareness of Scotland's trials and tribulations. We should have tried for ASSU funding--then we could have handed out Krispy Kremes to raise awareness after any Flicks movies that were tangentially related to Scotland. "Love Actually"? Protest outside to ask why it's all focused on London and not Edinburgh (then point out that the dude who hooked up with the Portuguese girl is similar to Sean Connery in that Sean Connery's second wife didn't speak any English either). "Matrix: Revolutions"? Ask why there weren't any serious Scottish characters. We could do so much to help the Scottish cause at Stanford!!! Connery 4ever!!
