Advice for CS Group Projects
Some of these things might be obvious, but are often forgotten or disregard:
Plan in the beginning
Know what everyone else is doing
Read the provided code
Take a short break when you are stuck
Do not procrastinate if you have free time, you will regret it later
Team projects must usually be split, 3 people working at one computer, are slower than 3 people working individually
Communication and Coordinating are crucial but will slow you down, plan accordingly
Try not to get mad at your teammates, and try to avoid things that might get them mad
Be especially aware of the last point when the deadline gets close
Feel free to comment with rules that should be on this list, I want this to be a bit of a guide line for students getting started in their first project based class. It is often easy to do well in CS 108, because the projects divide well, but once things get complicated, its easy to get lost.
