There used to be a time when I knew more about US politics than anyone I knew, when I knew the position and voting histories of all candidates and most senators, had read all the relevant campaign papers, had heard every detail. Now I feel completely ignorant about current events.
I understand the fundamentals better than I ever did, but I don't know specifics anymore. This makes me feel strangely powerless. After the last US election I resigned myself to the thought that things will not improve in the near future. It seems like it might be time to overcome that. Maybe things are not all that bad, no matter who wins this election.
Here's a good (*cough cough* liberal! *cough cough*) place to get caught up...
Makes me glad my roommate has a TV and we now have cable.
