Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
I am currently fighting against our last bug in CS 143. If anyone out there knows how it is possible to push characters that were already read back onto the stream in Jlex please send me an email. Apart from that, there is only one known difference between our Lexer and that of the Professor. According to the language specification '\0' is not valid in strings. I implemented our Lexer, so that it would complain about this. The provided binary file does however compile this without compiling, which is a complete mistery. I hope the TAs clarify this soon.
Apart from that I still have 1,5 E40 assignments and a hard CS 242 assignment due Wednesday. I hope this will all work out.
UPDATE: I'm pretty much finished with CS 143.
Yesterday I saw Kill Bill and actually enjoyed the second half of the movie. For the first half I was just wondering whether I would be able to watch the whole movie, or would leave the cinema.
In my opinion the movie is way to violent, but unlike other people I understand the difference between fiction and reality. Still I am not sure why such violent movies are made (well, money), or why appart from the gruesome violence it is quite enjoyable. Hm, this topic has always been a bit confusing to me.
Yesterday I also went to Sara's new appartment for Italian food and Mafia. There were about 17 Loro people in attendance, which was quite amazing, especially since some of us were on a Band trip. Playing was fun as always, though I did manage to come out as the Sherif first run, find a mafia (Curt), and then lose because Curt claimed to be the real sherif. Well, it was still a fun game.
