Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
The job fair was both a negative and a positive experience. All the companies I were interested in were not present (Apple, Google, SUN), though they will be at future job fairs. This was, however, still a great disappointment.
I gave a Resume to Amazon.com and the conversation went really well. I talked about my Coursework, CS history and areas of focus. In the end I got the recruiter's email address, and he told me to email or call him if noone from Amazon contants me in the next weeks.
My other three Interviews at Lucent, Oracle, and Yahoo! did went OK, but not too great. I am also worried about where I will stay over the summer, and how I will get to work. I would love to stay somewhere on Stanford campus, but getting to work might be very complicated, and I am not sure, if I can stay on campus, without paying for the entire quarter.
For today I have way too many problemsets due tomorrow to think about anything about classes.
Also, my blogging problems contine. I can save files, but publishing does not work. I have to rebuild all files, before I am able to publish, which makes very little sense. I might have to switch to a different version of Movable Type, but I do not want to lose my entries.
