Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
Much has happened since the last update. I am now writing this from CS 140 class, from Gates at Stanford. I failed my driver's license exam, but then got a permit to drive with my dad sitting next to me, and drove around a hundred miles in three days. I went to Turkey for 5 days, which was stressful but interesting. I now live in Naranja, Lagunita Court.
All my classes seem very interesting, and though there is not that much work yet, I think that they should still be manageable later in the quarter. I am finished with the reading for most of my classes, and now have time to focus on assignments, and closely rereading parts of the readings.
My roommate's are both pretty nice, and though I have the upper bunk of a bunked bed, and the table next to the door, my room still positively surprised me.
I will not learn C# for now, and not work on the Dashboard. I will work on BattleFungus when not doing work for class, and mostly do reading about Operating Systems. I will also try to read one novel per week.
CS 140 is great and it seems like lots of people are confused by the lecture, which to me seems very clear, because I already know the material. I hope the projects work just as well.
The food in Lag is acceptable, but definitely not great. This week I already ate in Stern and EAST; today I will eat in Storey with Doug, the Erics and Brendan.
Nora has exams next week, I wish her good luck with studying.
That's it for now, there will be regular updates starting today.
