The Streets of London

The last night in Nimes was quite difficult. It turned out that a group of mentally and physically handicapped people had moved into the room next to us, with which we had a shared bathroom and shower. We did not really mind that the shower was occupied for more than an hour, and that we heard loud screaming, which was a bit disturbing. But afterwards we saw that someone had removed to the door to the shower/bathroom, without even informing us. Though we knew that making the room comfortable for the handicapped people is difficult, doing so without even informing, let alone asking us was just inconsiderate.
We had to use the shower in the main building, which meant walking through the entire botanical garden several times. And sleeping was very difficult because of the periodic banging on the walls from the other room.

Yesterday we spent an hour looking for the youth hostel after a long, but very comfortable train ride. Going through the Eurotunnel with the Eurostar was especially cool.
If you ever want to stay in a youth hostel in London, don't choose the one in Rotherithe, the building is nice, but the rooms have the comfy Prison Cell (R) feel, are extremely small, with scant lighting, and high prices. They are close to the Metro though.

Today has been great up till know, and promising to get better. We arrived at the Baker Street subway station to find out that there was no line infront of Madame Tussaud's which was weird, but we decided not to go in anyway. Instead we walked to Oxford Street, the main shopping street, which was a lot cooler than anything you would ever find in Vienna. We went into a HVM, which sells music and DVDs, and they had the coolest DVDs that you could not really find in most stores Austria or California for so cheap. They had Zardoz, Serial Mom, But I'm a Cheerleader, and lots of other unknown stuff.
After that we went to Leicster Square were we thought about buying tickets for Pirates of the Carribean, but then decided to buy tickets to the musical Fame for tonight for only 30 dollars (for both of us), and see Pirates tomorrow. Leicster Square is in the West End where all the major drama and movie theaters are.
Instead of having one big cinema that shows movies by all movie companies, there are about five huge cinemas on Leicster Square, one of which shows WB and Viacom movies, one that shows Tomb Raider, American Pie and Hulk, one that shows just T3 and one that shows just Pirates of the Carribean. The one that shows T3 is the largest theater in Europe. Quite Weird.
We are now on Oxford Street again, heading towards Notting Hill, and blogging from an EasyInternetCafe.
