From Paris to Roanne

Be informed that the last days in Paris were great. The last day was a bit cooler and we managed to stay out all day, and the day we left we went to the Sacre Coeur in the morning before leaving for the train. The train ride was nice with no major events.

Roanne was quite different than Paris. We arrived late and all the shops were already closed, so we went to McDonalds. The next day was a holiday and all stores were closed, except a small super market, where we bought Baguette. We walked around the town and realized that it was very small. Very small.
We managed to pass the time until the next day, which was a Sunday, and all the stores were closed again. No supermarket either. We went to McDonalds with only a hundred Euro bill and 4 euro coins. The McDonalds in Roanne does not take hundred Euro bills. I ended up with a hamburger, Nora with a salad.
Things improved the next day when we went shopping, though neither of us actually bought anything.
On Tuesday (or am I mixing up days) we wanted to go hiking by the river, where Nora saw something weird looking in the water. We walked on but then decided to return out of curiosity. After closer inspection we saw there were cow intestines floating in the water. Very well preserved. We decided to return to the hostel. We saw another weird looking object floating in the water and walked on faster.
While there we also read a lot. I finished A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway which I had bought in Shakespeare and Company, and started Cien Anos de Soledad. Nora read Hesse and started Hemingway.

Nimes is a wonderful place and though we haven't been here for long, we have been enjoying it very much. The town is a lot nicer than Roanne, there are some attractions, and lots of nice streets, little cafes, and restaurants. I have been taking lots of pictures. Today we had a thunderstorm, which wasn't too bad, and there is a weird rock band playing in the hostel tonight. The hostel itself is located in a small garden, the rooms are in bungalows, and everything is quite alternative, and a lot less orderly than in Roanne. There we cooked every night, here the kitchen is too messy and crowded to cook.

In other news it seems that Loro summer online RPG mafia has started, and Sara if you read this, could you send me the list emails, without actually having me play this round? More updates soon, as the hostel has an old computer.

You can watch mafia just by going to the link that sara sent in the email. I dunno how to receive emails though, you might be able to sign yourself up, ask sara to be sure

Can - I'm sorry that you couldn't play this time, we miss you! But, it sounds like you're having an AWESOME time in France. I put the URL for the Mafia game in your URL box, and here for good measure: http://www.quicktopic.com/23/H/ELW6BGP95BC8N

You can subscribe yourself if you want, but since we've had 248 messages in the past 36 hours, you might not want to. Everything is on the board. When will you be back from France, and would you be willing to play later? Let me know! I'm looking forward to seeing you again!
