Introducing the Mazda RX-8

I went to a driving training ground on Friday and saw one of the sweetest new cars to be introduced in a long time. The car I am talking of is the Mazda RX-8 which will be introduced this September, and will be for sale starting in November. Seeing just one of these incredible cars is great enough, but yesterday I saw about thirty of them, as Italian car journalists were driving them around an obstacle course. Let me say that both me and my dad (who was also fascinated by the car) are convertible fans, but this is definitely the best affordable (non-super car) non-convertible car released in the last few years.

The Mazda is revolutionary in both its design and engine. The engine is a rotarary engine that has not been in a major car for a long time, and has never been able to quite live up to expectations (mostly due to cost), the only company that built a few was Audi. Now Mazda is using this efficient, smooth and quiet engine in a great sports car. The MX-8 looks are hard to describe, but like the BMW Z4 (which my dad and I are test driving for 2 days starting tomorrow, well, he'll be the one actually doing the driving) it is a departure from the smooth curves found on other sports cars, and has a bit of an edgier look. It draws inspiration from American cars, in that it is has slight bulges on some parts, and the area around the front wheels slightly resembles the PT-Cruiser, though my dad contests this. The perfect color for this car is definitely red.
The interior design is amazing, and the best leather configuration costs around five thousand Euros (roughly the same in Dollars) more than the base price of thirty thousand Euros, and is definitely worth the money. The interior is very elegant and looks better than on any Mercedes or BMW I have seen, and the same is true for most of the car. I am very glad to have been able to see this great car so long before its release, if you are thinking about buying a car, and don't want a convertible, this is the one to get.
