Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
I have a little revelation that I'd liked to share with you. It came to me yesterday.
Why is the iPod so important to Apple?
The iPod is a large hard-drive that you take with you as much as possible. Nobody would every carry around a large storage device with them all the time, but the iPod gives people an incentive to: it just happens to be an MP3 player. While the MP3 capability is still the main selling point for the iPod, Apple is adding many new features. These are some excerpts from the iPod webiste: "the iPod now lets you do a whole lot more in addition to maintaining your contacts, calendar and to-do lists," "iPod also includes a notes reader that lets you download text-based information and read it on the screen, this way you can have the information you need [...] at your fingertips" and finally the title "The perfect travel companion".
Apple wants you to store all information that you might need during the day on your iPod. iSync Since most people have lots of free space on their iPods (and hard-drive capacity is still growing fast), users can store a lot of data on their iPod in addition to all the music.
