Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
My progress in learning Cocoa has been acceptable. I have been programming in it for about a day now, but there are lots of things I do not yet know. Many things are very interesting, some I like a lot, some will take a bit of time to get used to. Right now I'm having a problem with the debugger. I cannot debug properly when the window of the app displays itself. I'm not exactly sure, what the reason for that is.
I am also looking for some advanced Cocoa books, though Tristan says I won't need books. Any suggestions?
BattleFungus is coming along ok. I have identified a large number of functions I will need for the AI. I have written a few of them, but they don't quite work yet, and I'm not really sure why. Working on a project that someone else started in a language you learned a day ago can be confusing. This week promises to be stressful, because of 103 B, IHUM and our 107 program. I hope to find at least some time to work on BattleFungus. The most important things now are setting up CVS and etching out our Class Hierarchy.
