The ProFros are loose!

I never went to my own admit weekend, so I was definitely looking forward to this year's. I was at first quit a bit dissapointed, because everything seemed so anticlimatic, but by now I know that admit weekend is a lot more fun for ProFro's than for anyone else. My personal impression of some of the ProFros is that they are quiet smart, though harder to get to know them than other students. It seems odd to not be the youngest class on campus anymore, allmost as if I am getting old.

I just hope all the ProFros realize how great a place Stanford is. I studied myself to exhaustion for at least two years to get into here, and hearing that people are deciding between here and places like the University of Chicago hurts me. Stanford is definitely the best place in the world for studying CS - with great lecturers and Professors like John McCarthy and Donald Knuth. If anyone of you CS ProFros read this, in the words of Alan Kay, one of the inventors of the original PC: "This University is the shrine of John McCarthy, who made the most profound contribution to Computer Science, by creating LISP."
