Hydra, great for teamwork.

Since a week or so, i have been using Hydra. Hydra allows many people to work on the same document at the same time. This is great for taking collective notes, discussing and editing papers, and writing and editing programs. Hydra supports Rendezvous, as well as tradtional connections over the web, and spouts a nice and clean interface. It can highlight text by different users in different colors, to better distinguish them, and also supports syntax highliting for many languages.

Hydra, however, is also part of a bigger trend. Well designed, clean, simple to use programs that innovate in a specific, but important area, and just work. Hydra makes it easy for people to work together on documents, collaborate on projects, and revise text. There are so many uses of Hydra, and also Rendezvous, that we are only gradually discovering.

Hydra is now my default text editor, and I often share a document and work on it together with someone else. I cannot await to see the first programming project I will be able to use Hydra on.
