Welcome to the blog of Can Sar, a Stanford CS major. This blog is made up of my thoughts on Computer Science and the computer industry, as well as ever exciting tales from my life.
I am an undergraduate Computer Science major at Stanford University. I was born and live in Vienna, a city I have learned to appreciate since being in the USA in the last two years.
My focus in Computer Science is on systems in general, and operating systems and networking in particular. I am currently researching Distributed Virtual Memory for my individually designed summer research project.
I spent considerable time trying to find a title and focus for my weblog, and feel that I have finally succeeded. It is a work in progress, and like myself, sometimes serious, sometimes funny or crazy, often technical and sometimes philosophical. I was thinking about dividing it into a work journal and personal journal, but the idea seemed contrary to how I live my life, and I want this to be reflected in my blog. For those of you who don't care about Computer Systems, there will be enough non-technical stuff I promise, and for those that are interested in CS only, there will be more than enough as well. Though one or the other may overweigh at times, I will try to keep them balanced in the long term.
And if you haven't noticed, CS are my initials.
