Yosemite Valley rock climbs - online update to Reid guidebook
current draft: 3/28/2011 - 2808 routes (including a few duplicate pitches)
- all routes by location with topo links
includes both old and new routes, plus everything in the Reid book
similar to captions in Reid guide
- routes by type face, thin, hand, fist, etc.
sorted by rating and location within each type, not by name
like the lists in Meyers 1982 and Meyers+Reid 1987, since discontinued
- yos.xls spreadsheet, sortable by location,
rating, stars, type/width, name, number of pitches, FA year
includes crag names in bold to separate routes by crag
may also be useful for personal tick lists, or for sending in changes -
highlight changes in red and email file to me
- yosfap.xls first ascents by person -
then sorted by location [last updated: 3/26/2011]
- first ascent info
- routes by rating (not as good as by type?)
- routes by name
In 2005, Don Reid had an updated version of Yosemite Climbs: Free Climbs ready
to print, but the publishers did not print it.
This online update is not intended to interfere with the publication of a
new edition of the Reid guidebook.
People interested in a complete guidebook will want a
copy of the latest editions of the Reid guidebooks (Free Climbs and Big Walls),
with their great topos and overlay photos.
