Pinnacles:  Feed the Beast, Ape Index, Ranger Bolts  1/20/91
Subject:      SCUDlebutt from the Pinnacles

Nancy + I + Renata drove down on Saturday to meet Joel, Bob Palais, and
Greg Murphy; they were just finishing POD when we arrived.  I then led
Feed the Beast 5.11b (I TRed it a year ago), and Bob and Nancy followed.
Greg led everything else, with the occasional challenge from Joel --
"Don flashed this."  We all tried Black Dagger 5.11b/d (depending on
whether you use the tree).  Greg led w/ 1 fall, Joel had trouble, Nancy
couldn't do the crux start, and I used the tree.  Anne and Jim also did
it just after us.  Everyone except me did Autocream (aka Sunwheel) 5.11a (I
flailed enough on it last time).  Ape Index 5.11c:  Greg 1 fall, Joel + I
did it, Bob had trouble w/ crux start.  Ranger Bolts Halfway 5.11c/d:  Greg
2 falls at last move crux, Clint followed, Joel+Nancy had trouble at midway
bulge.  As darkness fell, Greg and Bob bagged The Verdict 5.11a.
We also saw Jim + Anne do Subterranean Tango 5.11a, Foreplay 5.11a/b, and
later they did No Holds Barred, Tarantula 5.12a ***, and Daddy Long Legs
5.11d (on which they broke several holds -- not good like Tarantula).
We also saw Jim + Jon McConachie doing a new route left of Scorpion, Rita
Look, and of course Ranger Tim Reid.
