Pinnacles: Heat Seeking, Tiburcio's X 2/3/90 Saturday: Pinnacles with Nancy, Alice, Sean, and Hubert Shen. Ran into Berkeley buds: Bob, Jim Thornburg, Greg Murphy, and Don Snyder. I led Heat Seeking Moisture Missile, which is a solid waterstreak and seam going through 3 overhangs (5.10a to 5.10c). Even takes some crack pro. Had to work out the moves on the higher 2 overhangs, which involve cool liebacking off knobs. Above the last overhang I got a little gripped because there were no bolts in sight above, but I got a TCU in and found 2 bolts above. Everybody cranked the first overhang, but only Alice and Nancy got the second. Nancy got the third pretty much but got out of sequence and hung briefly. This morning she said her "wings" were sore. It was fairly cold and breezy so we did 2 routes at Tiburcio's X, where we got some occasional sun but it was even windier. The left one was loose and had a little 5.10a at the end -- Hubert pulled off a 6" diameter thick flake which narrowly missed Alice (*not* a recommended route). The right one (5.9) was better and went to the top, but only Hubert followed before we decided to leave.
