Whitehorse Mountain with my dad and Nancy's dad 7/89 6000' of elevation gain from the valley floor, so it was similar to Humphries, but many more plants and the total altitude is under 7000'. High camp on a heather ridge; wandering in foggy forested slope, up rockslide, onto snow (soft but crampons were nice), then final 5.5 unprotected rock for 30' above narley moat. Waited for an hour on top, but the clouds didn't part much. Stayed a second night at high camp to ease the wear and tear of the descent. It was my dad's 4th try (since 1940); the weather had always stopped him before. Tahoe: Return to Spank -- was lucky to free it on my first try of the day (TR) . We all had a little trouble with the overhang midway; guess it's more like 5.11a than 5.10d there. Rating: 5.11c/d. Decided not to bolt it for lead
