On Sunday, October 8 I rebolted part of the first pitch of the aid version of "Ranger Bolts" (A1) on the Monolith. I pulled and replaced the three bolts on the traversing aid start. The existing bolts were the following: a 3/8" x 2" Star Dryvin bolt and Leeper hanger, a 1/4" x 1" threaded split shaft bolt and a Leeper hanger, and another 1/4" x 1" threaded split shaft bolt and Leeper hanger. The third bolt was already levered out 3/8" when I pulled it. These three bolts were each replaced in the same hole with a 3/8" x 3-1/2" Rawl 6-piece bolt and a Kong S.S. hanger. The second bolt in the aid route bolt ladder was a 3/8" x 2" Star Dryvin bolt and a Leeper hanger. This bolt had been botched during its initial placement, so the head was already levered out 1/2" before I easily pulled it. This bolt was then replaced with a 3/8" x 3-1/2" Rawl 6-piece bolt and a Kong S.S. hanger. The remainder of the bolt ladder is very solid (this rock is very hard), despite the assortment of bolts and hangers. Bolts Pulled: 4, Bolts Placed 4 Mark Fletcher
