Grading for Canadian coins 1858-1901 5c-20c (Victoria - hair braid)

Here is the exact grading from the Charlton book (1968,
but I think it is still the same today):

G - braid around ear worn through
VG - no details in braid around the ear
F - segments of braid begin to merge into one another
VF - braid is clear but not sharp
EF - braid is slightly worn but generally sharp and clear
