misc. San Francisco areas
Mt. Davidson Cross
The Mt. Davidson Cross has (or had) an old bolt route
on it. I don't feel real interested in checking it out.
Someone died solo aiding the route when one of the bolts
failed.
Marina Green Pillar
There is a short traverse around the pillar on the
breakwater sheltering the harbor at the west end of the
Marina Green.
S.F. Art Institute
In the top middle of the S.F. Art Institute Building
located at 800 Chestnut near Jones, there are some
short up problems using thin edges on the side of a
concrete amphitheater. This is private property.
S.F. State University
The parking garage at S.F. State has hand cracks on and
in it and is very similar to the 7th St. parking garage
at San Jose State. It appears the administration here
is just as anti-buildering as San Jose State.
Bankers Heart
This black obsidian scuplture in the front of the Bank of
America Building at 555 California near Montgomery has a
hand traverse on one side and another side has a no-hands
friction problem. Building security guards do
chase people away from the structure.
Tower of Power
On a pillar supporting Market St. near Cuesta Ct. an
artificial climb has been constructed with glued on
wooden holds and chipped pockets. It is rated 5.11+ and
is 45' tall.
Twin Peaks Observation Point
There is an easy traverse on the retaining wall at the
observation point.
