Coyote Hills Regional Park

There are some short toprope and boulder problems on the chirt outcroppings here. They range in difficulty from 4th class to 5.8 and the highest problem is 25' high. There are two sets of rocks and they are both visible when driving into the park.
Update 1/2004: the rock is sharp, with bad landings and only a few problems. It costs $4 to get in.

Hub Wall

Near the Fremont Hub off Mowry there is a retaining wall with a 80' long 5.8 traverse with glued on holds in a creek. This creek is on Hastings. The traverse is on private property and will probably not survive for a long time.

Niles Canyon R.R. Pier

The sandstone pier supporting the railroad tracks over Alameda Creek has a short 25' high bolt protected face climbing route up one side. The bolts are quite old. There is also a bouldering traverse around the pier. If you are interested, you can stop here on your drive to Yosemite. This pier is about 1.5 miles east of Mission Blvd. on Highway 84.
