Here I am pseudo-charismatically posing before the ocean. It's really cold
and refreshing!
About me
Greetings...
I am Cihan Baran, currently a junior at
Stanford Universtity, majoring in
Electrical Engineering. I am originally
from
Istanbul, Turkey.
This website is basically my project for
CS193C, a CS class I took.
I had meant to start up a website for myself, so that I could put up some
of my writings every now and then. In a way, this project was a nice excuse.
(Shrugs and then continues writing.)
(I shy away from the idea of blogging because I don't like to write regularly.)
Aside my interest in science and math stretching to my childhood,
I recently developed a keen interest for philosophy.
EE at Stanford is really work-intensive. So instead of taking philosophy
classes, I usually explore philosophy as a pastime activity.
As it happens, I usually find myself toying around with philosophical ideas
but never really bother to put them down on paper. So I thought, "Why not
share these ideas on the web with everyone, who MUST BE dying to learn about'em!"
You are free to make use of the texts on this web page as long as you cite me
and also please let me know by an email!
Yeah, yeah, most likely you are a non-philosophical reader and must be
wondering what the heck is wrong with Mary. So why don't you start with
Against Jackson's Knowledge Argument
?
