First global land cover map at 300 m resolution

The POSTEL Service Centre has produced the first global land cover map at 300 m resolution, that discriminates the land surfaces in 22 classes representatives of the continental ecosystems. Cover types include
croplands, wetlands, forests, artificial surfaces, water bodies and
permanent snow and ice.
The freely available map is based on 20 Terabytes of imagery and has a resolution 10 times sharper
than any of its predecessors.
