NASA GISS: G.Projector – Global Map Projector

G.Projector is a Java application which allows you to explore a large collection of global map projections and project an input GIF, JPG or PNG equirectangular map image. Lon-lat gridlines and continental outlines may be drawn, and resulting map images may be saved to disk in GIF, PDF, PNG or PS form.

(Note: The ones from an external site I had pointed to earlier resulted in a segmentation fault when exiting the program, so I compiled them myself . Also, as Martyn points out, I used the CVS source code, version 0.98 is not officially released yet – ce 5/16/07 )

And, finally WinBUGS. Which you can run on a Mac through CrossOver, if you insist:

• To install Winbugs in CrossOver: Configure -> Install Software -> install unsupported software -> Choose Installer file
• The default directory set up by CrossOver for progs is /[username]/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/default/drive_c/Program Files
• To run Winbugs: Programs -> Run Command and find the executable.

With Unype you can control another user’s Google Earth, and you can show them your model interactively, in real-time, without having to email them placemarks. Unype uses a Skype account to let you connect to and lead or follow another user in Google Earth. As the user moves, you move too, in real-time. See for yourself.
