A while ago I started experimenting with the libraries RSS feeds about new acquisitions. Here is what I have come up with and been using for quite a while now: I merge various RSS feeds provided by the library and filter them through Feedshake, applying a list of about 20 keywords that are relevant for Anthropology. Feedshake returns one single, tailored feed which I added into my Live Bookmarks of Firefox. The link provided will bring you directly to the Socrates entry. Maybe a few more books than needed, but takes probably 5 seconds to browse down the list.
Here is my feed: http://feedshake.com/mpfeeds/1h9vyipxbb.xml
The KEEP toolkit which has been around for a while is a set of web-based tools that help teachers, students and institutions quickly create compact and engaging
knowledge representations on the Web.
The KEEP Toolkit is a project of the Knowledge Media Lab at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
It can now be fully integrated with Sakai, an online open source Collaboration and Learning Environment, used by a wide range of institutions to support teaching and learning, portfolios and research collaboration. A plug-in for Sakai 2.1 or later enables one-stop authentication for easy access of KEEP Toolkit from within a Sakai instance through the use of web services. (The plug-in package is available for the distributable version of KEEP 1.9).
