Academic Technology Specialist, Program in Writing and Rhetoric, STANFORD UNIVERSITY, Stanford, CA

  • Research and evaluate current issues related to writing, communication and technology, present findings to the PWR.
  • Research software solutions for teaching and learning communication.
  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of web pages and all necessary web forms for the Program in Writing and Rhetoric, the Stanford Study of Writing, the Hume Writing Center and Writing in the Major.
  • Develop and teach courses in writing and rhetoric for first-year and second-year students.
  • Provide pedagogically sound guidance to all PWR instructional staff on how to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Train instructional staff to use various technologies for teaching, from the use of technology enhanced classrooms, to the use of course management systems and digital media.
  • Develop, manage and maintain the technology infrastructure for the Program in Writing and Rhetoric’s 200+ yearly course offerings.
