- Academics: Study more efficiently by using a highlighter with one hand in the book, and taking notes with the other hand in a notebook; this saves the trouble of switching hands. Also, use two types of highlighters in the same book for different types of information.
- Brain: Performing tasks using different hands or in different ways makes use of different parts of the brain, and the brain develops with use. So by using both hands, the brain develops control and dexterity in more of its parts [Saunders].
- Challenge: You may have always wanted to try it but never knew how.
- Coolness: It's just cool to be able to use both hands to do everything (and be equally versatile in everything else)!
- Dinner / Cooking: Stop bumping into people at the dinner table, or just as easily use the right side of the range as the left if there are two cooks using the stove at once.
- Physics: Do homework problems with your left hand and leave your right hand free to do the "right hand rule" for vector analysis.
- Safety: Use equipment the way it was intended by being skilled with both hands.
- Sports: Being able to throw a Frisbee, shoot a basketball, bat, throw, swing a racket, etc with both hands gives an advantage in a tough game situation.
- Versatility: Use a left or right-handed guitar, a left or right-handed computer mouse, etc.
