Language Arts (back)

from http://jason-dev.appliedtheory.com/teacher_center/language_arts/language_arts.htm

English and the language arts are fully integrated into the JASON Project. A variety of curricular exercises challenge students to read, analyze and evaluate different kinds of information. All curricular exercises correlate to National Standards for the English Language Arts. Language links in each investigation provide opportunities for creative, persuasive and analytical writing. Students keep JASON Project Journals for continual exploration of their own relationship to current research. Journal questions prompt students to summarize and expand on multidisciplinary topics.

Reading the recommended JASON Project novels each year allows your class to explore relevant themes. Within the Teacher Preparation sections of each investigation, novel links provide guided questions to spur in-class discussion and activities. Students can also demonstrate analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills by participating in novel message boards and real-time novel chats with authors and other students on Team JASON Online, the JASON Project web community.
