[The Train]
by Anonymous

It's not my job to run the train,
The whistle I don't blow.
It's not my job to say how far
The train's supposed to go.
I'm not allowed to pull the brake,
Or even ring the bell.
But let the damn thing leave the track
And see who catches hell!

Submitted by Brian Kunde, Serials Cataloging, with this note: "I enjoyed the poem Spellbound in last week's News Notes. The rhythm and irreverence (if not the subject) put me in mind of another one I ran across several years ago. Memory being what it is, I can't swear that every word in this corresponds to the original, but this is how I remember it."
