Goodbye to Green:
a Sonnet
by Anonymous

This month they finally kick us out of Green,
And stick us all in Meyer, or the trailers,
To fix the place up better than it's been
Since quakes in '89 caused structure failures.
So bid farewell to fans that blow no breeze,
And plywood panels propping up our walls,
Farewell to furnaces that clank and wheeze,
Farewell to blocked rotundas, wings, and halls!
Hello to inconvenience getting books
To Green, and back to Galvez or to Meyer:
The situation for retrieval looks
Most grim (unless more students we can hire).
They say we may be four years in exile;
But double that: they tend to take a while!
