The library at Cubberley is fine,
For it survived the quake of eighty-nine.
I'd praise it even more, but what the heck?
The next time it could be a total wreck.

It's where to go to study education,
So I suspect it's prone to devastation.
(The state of learning in this state's in trouble,
With budgets often shaken down to rubble.)

I'll shed a tear if that old building falls
(Though at a prudent distance from the walls),
But while it stands I'll stand by Cubberley.
(You might prefer to stand within -- not me!)
