PRESENTATION BY CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN FOR COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT (AUL/CD) The search committee working on this position has invited for interviews on 2-3 and 5-6 June, Assunta Pisani, Associate Director and Librarian of Villa I Tatti, the Harvard Center for Renaissance Studies outside of Florence and former incumbent at Harvard University of a similar position, and Roberto Trujillo, SUL/AIR Curator for Iberian and Latin American Studies and acting AUL/CD since 1 October 1996. As part of the interviews, each candidate will present an informal paper on an aspect or aspects of collection development in major research libraries. The topic is deliberately vague to give each candidate plenty of leeway. I have asked Assunta and Roberto to give us opportunities to consider not only their ideas and concerns on the topic itself, but also views of their modes of thought and principles for fulfilling the duties of the position. All SUL/AIR staff is invited to these talks.
