About the Comic.

[Contents] [Top]

Ferd and Charlie is a comic strip by Brian Kunde, originally serialized in eight parts totalling 20 pages in the ditto machine produced school newspaper the Redeemer Brave during the 1973-74 school year at Redeemer Lutheran School. The protagonists are two spiders and their curmudgeonly uncle. While the story and art were better than my maiden effort Discus and Africus, the pages often do not scan as well due to the poorer reproductive process by which the paper was published. All twenty pages are reproduced here.
With the advent of the internet I posted a page from the strip as an art sample in my online gallery on 8/26/98, and later most of the remaining pages on 2/23/12 and 4/23/12. The remaining five pages, missing at that time, were afterwards found and posted on 7/8/13, finally making the complete story available here from Fleabonnet Press.
