Corporeal Complaint
by Brian Kunde
My genes are ill-tempered,
and my molecules melancholy.
My atoms are angry atoms,
and my cells calumnify.
Every fiber of my being
feels the full frenzy;
each constituent corpuscle
howls the horrid howl.
My whole form’s a seething hotbed
of dissonance; of discontent.
How every component agonizes,
each piece and part protesting!
I hardly can blame them.
But hey, I’m happy.
