Paul Henry Hunkey(3), born April 12, 1908 in Rockwood Township, Wadena County, Minnesota, the son of Henry W. Hunke(2) and Anna Clara (Mautasch) Hunke.
Paul worked on the family farm and surrounding farms into his early 20s. He started doing mechanical work on family cars and for neighbors during his teen years, and spent two or three winters in Chicago in the late 1920s and early 1930s doing mechanical work.
He married, on April 15, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lorna Dorothy Jacobsen. She was born January 20, 1914 in ------, ------, the daughter of ------ ------ Jacobsen and ------ ------ (------) Jacobsen.
Children:
After his marriage, Paul continued working on farms north of Wadena. In 1935, he moved to Wadena and started his own business, Paul Hunkey's Auto Service, which lasted over sixty years, surviving two fires. He lived in Wadena for 66 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.His marriage ended in divorce.
Paul died August 31, 2001, aged 93, at his home in Wadena. He was survived by two sons, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A visitation was held September 6, 2001, followed by a service at 2:00 P.M. of the same day at the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena. Pallbearers were Patrick Hunke, Scott Hunke, Nate Hunke, Dong Heern, Darwin Heern, and Dave Stigman. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Heern and Jerome Uselman. Interment was at the Wadena Cemetery (apparently identical with Calvary Cemetery) with Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena in charge of arrangements. His grave in the Hunkey family section of Calvary Cemetery, Wadena, Wadena County, Minnesota bears a marker with the following inscription:

After her divorce from Paul Hunke, Lorna Dorothy (Jacobsen) Hunke married (second), on ------ --, 19-- at ------, ------, Dr. Lothar S----- Imm. He was born July 19, 1900 in ------, ------, the son of ------ ------ Imm and ------ ------ (------) Imm.
Lorna and Lothar's Social Security cards were both issued in Minnesota.
Lorna "was the editor at the Wadena Pioneer Journal during WWII. In 1946, she won a Minnesota and national award for the best weekly newspaper edited by a woman. Later she purchased her own newspaper, the Hubbard County News, in Nevis, Minnesota. She operated this newspaper until 1957, when she sold it and went to Minneapolis to act as business manager for the Lutheran Digest for 12 years.
"In 1969, she started her own publication, the Lutheran Review, and moved to Houston, Texas. There she was instrumental in the creation of the town of Roman Forest and served as one of its first mayors. In about 1975, she retired to Kerrville in the Hill country of Texas where she lived for about five years. Due to the failing health of her husband, Dr. L.S. Imm, she moved to San Antonio."
Lothar S. Imm's last residence was San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas 78240. He died October 24, 1988 in Bexar County, Texas.
After her husband's death Lorna "purchased a partially developed housing development and started her own construction company, called Imm Construction Company, and completed the development."
In early 2000, Lorna's son and daughter-in-law spent three months getting her settled into a care facility in San Antonio.
Lorna Dorothy Imm's last residence was Waite Park, Stearns County, Minnesota 56387. She died of pneumonia December 15, 2000 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of eighty-six years. She was survived by two sons, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
