<- Bradley, Marion Zimmer, 1930-1999.
         Full name: Marion Eleanor Zimmer Bradley. American author and editor of science fiction and fantasy, born in Albany, New York. Later lived in Berkeley, California. Married first to Robert Alden Bradley and later to non-fiction writer Walter Breen; sister of Paul Edwin Zimmer and mother of David Bradley, also science fiction and fantasy authors. Often deals with issues of gender equality in her work. Best known for her "Darkover" books.

             A retelling of the Arthurian legends from the frame of reference of its female characters, Morgaine and Gwenhwyfar. Followed by sequels written with Diana L. Paxson, The Forest House (1993), The Lady of Avalon (1997), and The Priestess of Avalon (2000); further sequels are written primarily by Paxson.
