         Full name: Ray Douglas Bradbury. American science fiction and fantasy writer born in Waukegan, Illinois who lives in California. Also a writer of screenplays, notably Moby Dick (1956).

             A dystopian tale set in a future in which books are banned, and firemen burn them. A classic on the dangers of censorship and the importance of intellectual freedom. Adapted to film in 1966.
