BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Mike obtained his B.S. in Microbiology from the University
of New Hampshire and his M.S. in
Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado.
For his Ph.D. research, he drew upon these two disciplines to study the effects
of spaceflight on bacteria. His graduate studies were conducted at BioServe
Space Technologies (a NASA Research Partnership Center at the University of
Colorado) and were highlighted by an experiment that flew onboard the
International Space Station. In January of 2006, he began work as a
Postdoctoral Scholar under Dr. A.C. Matin in the Microbiology & Immunology
Department at Stanford
University, and in 2009
he was promoted to Research Associate.
