Broken Islands Kayaking Trip

August 20-24, 1997

The trip starts in Port Alberni, B.C. The MV Francis Barkley takes us to Seachart, where we will pick up our kayaks.

The force includes Gary, Tim, Toni, Craig, Jana, Lori, Cathy, Grant, Tina, Brian and Joe.

We pack our gear into containers to be loaded onto the MV Francis Barkley.

Here Tim pays close attention to see that our stuff makes it aboard.

Grant and Cathy enjoy the breeze, everyone else was probably watching Tim learn to use the GPS navigator.

At Seachart, we get our kayaks and meet the park rangers.

Of course we pack our kayaks in about five minutes.

$30 to replace a lost hatch. Lori discovers that they are not tied on too well.

Don't worry Lori, you're gonna get wet anyway...

The truth is that it wasn't always sunny. Our first camp, on Turret Island.
